DU'A AND SUNNAH PART - 4: FOR BATHING AND DRESSING

1) To have the intention of becoming pure. 2) Wash both hands thoroughly. 3) To do istinja. 4) If there is impurity etc. somewhere on the body, then wash it. 5) Performing Wudu. 6) Pour water over the entire body thrice. 7) Pour water first on the head, then on the right shoulder and then on the left shoulder. 8) To provide water where water has not reached, by rubbing it with hands.

1) In qamis and kurta etc, first put the right hand in the sleeve and then the left, similarly in pajama, shalwar etc, put the right foot first then left foot 2) Reciting dua for wearing clothes. 3) Saying "Bismillah" while taking off clothes. 4)While taking off the clothes, start taking them off from the left side, first then from the right side ,take out the left hand then the right, similarly take out the left foot first and then the right. 5) Wear shoes and slippers first on the right foot and then on the left foot. 6) While taking off, start with the left foot first. Take off again from the right. Note: For women, it is necessary to keep pajama, shalwar etc below the ankles etc.

Arabic: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي هَذَ الثَّوْبَ وَرَزَقَنِيهِ مِنْ غَيْرِ حَوْلٍ مِنِّي وَلَا قُوَّةٍ Transliteration: Alhamdulillahilladhi kasani hadha (ath-thawb) wa razaqaneehi min ghayri hawlin minnee wa laa quwwah. Translation: Praise is to Allah who has clothed me with this (garment) and provided it for me, though I was powerless myself and incapable.

Du'a for Wearing General Clothe

Arabic: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي كَسَانِي مَا أُوَارِي بِهِ عَوْرَتِي، وَأَتَجَمَّلُ بِهِ فِي حَيَاتِي Transliteration: Alhamdulillahil-ladhi kasani ma uwari bihi 'awrati, wa atajammalu bihi fi hayati. Translation: All praise is due to Allah who has clothed me with this garment, with which I cover my private parts and with which I adorn myself in my life.

Arabic: تُبْلِي وَيُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى Transliteration: Tublī wa yukhlifu Allahu ta'āla. Translation: May you wear it out and Allah replace it (with something better).
